The Practice
Tea is not a beverage here.
It is a method of listening.
Yangsheng Cha Dao is Tiyana Ti's living tea methodology, rooted in classical Chinese medicine and Daoist Yangsheng philosophy. Yangsheng translates as "nourishing life," a tradition of cultivation through daily practice rather than intervention.
The method is adapted specifically for women's constitutions in tropical climates. It works with the body's yin and yang fluids, the organ system as mapped in classical TCM, and the seasonal rhythms that govern vitality. Tea (Camellia sinensis, the only true tea plant) is the medium through which all of this becomes experiential rather than theoretical.
You do not need knowledge of Chinese medicine to begin. You need only a willingness to slow down, to pay attention, and to receive what the tea brings.
The ceremony space.
What we offer
Four ways to enter the practice.
Single Tea Ceremony
One session · 90 minutes · Ubud sanctuary
An introduction to Yangsheng Cha Dao through direct experience. You sit with the tea in silence and in presence. Tiyana pours. The tea speaks. This is where most women begin.
Suitable for those new to living tea and for those with existing practice who wish to receive rather than host. Each session is specific to your constitution and the season.
Women's Circle
Group ceremony · 3 hours · Ubud sanctuary
A ceremony held for a small group of women, typically four to eight. Tea is poured for the collective. The session includes constitutional dialogue, a period of silence, and time for integration.
Women's circles are held on scheduled dates and can be arranged privately for groups travelling together to Ubud.
Tea Initiation
Private · 2.5 hours · Ubud sanctuary
Your entry into the path. A private initiation with Tiyana Ti, where your constitution is read through classical Chinese medicine and met with the tea your body asks for. You leave with a personal prescription, guidance for your practice, and a written protocol to carry home.
This is the threshold, the session that makes the practice yours. Precise, rooted in classical tradition, embodied for the life you actually live, and held for the woman ready to begin practising on her own.
Multi-Day Immersion
3 or 5 days · Ubud sanctuary · By application
Time enough for the practice to become part of you. Three to five days in Ubud, for a full transmission and immersion in the world of tea: mornings in ceremony and study, afternoons to let it settle and to practise alone, evenings in the quiet of the sanctuary.
A small cohort, a place kept for the women who are ready for it. Immersions open by application. Write to us, tell us what is drawing you to the tea, and we will let you know when the next dates open.
Who this is for
Women who are ready to practise rather than consume.
- You have a sense that what you do every morning matters. You want it to be intentional.
- You are drawn to classical Chinese medicine and Daoist philosophy but have not found a teacher who makes it practical.
- You live in or are visiting Bali and want to bring something home that is more than a memory.
- You have been drinking tea for years and want to understand what you are actually working with.
- You are a woman navigating depletion, hormonal shifts, or the particular exhaustion of high-functioning life and you are looking for something that works from the inside.
"The whole experience felt like shopping, entertainment, meditation, gratitude and humbling at the same time."
